Community Councillor Vacancy filled by Co-option - Hyssington Ward
Following the elections May 2017 and continuing vacancies in the offices of community councillor for Hyssington, the community council published intent to fill the vacancies by co-option, so one new Councillor has been duly co-opted for Hyssington Ward.
At the meeting of 26th July 2017 Council resolved to co-opt Mr R K McLintock as a Community Councillor for Hyssington Ward.
Two vacancies remain to be filled for Hyssington Ward, and expressions of interest are sought from members of the public who meet the qualifying conditions and are interested in representing their community on the Community Council. Local Elections 4th May 2017 Result
Community Council: The election, unopposed, of 8 community councillors for Churchstoke Ward has been announced. There were no nominations and no election of community councillors for Hyssington Ward. Four seats on the community council remain vacant, 1 for Churchstoke Ward and 3 for Hyssington Ward. The new council takes office on 8th May 2017.
Green Grants 2017 - Applications from community groups are invited.
Churchstoke Community Council has adopted the waste recycling site at the car park at Harry Tuffins Supermarket. The proceeds from recycling the materials collected, are distributed each year in the annual round of 'Green Grants'. Applications for the 2017 round of Green Grants are now invited.

Monday waste collections to be binned
From April 2017, Powys County Council will collect all recycling and waste between Tuesdays and
Fridays and will no longer collect on Mondays as part of plans to save £500,000 a year.
The council will continue to collect recycling and food waste on a weekly basis and residual waste every three weeks.
As part of the change, households be notified by post in the coming weeks of their new collections days but you will need to
have your recycling and waste out ready for collection by 6.30am on your collection day.
